Fenugreek Extract
Also known as: Trigonella foenum-graecum · Testofen · Fenugreek seed extract
Steroidal saponins inhibit 5-alpha reductase and aromatase, shifting testosterone metabolism away from DHT and oestrogen — raising free testosterone. Testofen is the most studied patented extract.

What Is Fenugreek Extract?
Fenugreek seeds contain furostanol and spirostanol saponins (including protodioscin) that modulate androgen metabolism. The Testofen brand (standardised to 50% fenuside saponins) has published human RCTs showing increases in free testosterone and sexual function. Fenugreek is also a traditional galactagogue and has blood glucose-lowering properties.
How It Works: The Science
Fenugreek saponins inhibit 5-alpha reductase (which converts testosterone to DHT) and aromatase (which converts testosterone to oestrogen), reducing testosterone clearance and raising free T. They also bind androgen receptors with weak agonist activity. The fibre content (galactomannan) slows glucose absorption, contributing to blood sugar benefits.

5-alpha reductase inhibition, aromatase modulation, free testosterone elevation

Dosage Guide
Effective Dose
500–600mg / day
500–600mg Testofen (50% fenuside) daily; or 500mg 4-OH-isoleucine-standardised extract for blood glucose effects. General fenugreek seed powder requires 5–10g/day for blood sugar effects.
Safety Profile & Side Effects
Maple-syrup body odour is common and harmless. Hypoglycaemia risk when combined with diabetes medications. Avoid during pregnancy (uterine stimulant effects at high doses). May cause GI upset.
